This has become one of my favorite shows of all time. I am OBSSESSED with it, and crush I have on Edwin is very unhealthy. Seriously, if I was in this universe I would be hot for him too.

The fact that Luo Binghe is ready to bottom but Shen Qingqiu would rather he tops (for now) because he is just too afraid to hurt Luo Binghe, even knowing that Luo Binghe would welcome pain from him... 🥺🥺🥺 Honestly, as I've said in chat, for two virgins with no proper sex ed their real first time went pretty good, Bingmei knows about foreplay, prep and lube and is very attentive to his Shizun's feedback, including in a form of body language. The comically large dick, which is all fun and sexy in porn etc, is just not easy to deal with in reality for most people, to say the least, but they manage and Binghe jerked him off twice too... Regarding Bingge, one fun AU the fandom has for him is getting with precanon Shen Yuan via Xinmo, fully entering into modern world where he's alive (shenanigans) or stealing him into the PIDW world. There's also a BingJiu slash with OG Sqq typically attic-wifed, morbid, but makes for interesting art 😅

Let me try to count all the things I love here. 1) The episode concept/the execution of said concept. The timeloop of trauma for the spirits to just be stuck in this minute of violence for YEARS and to have a main character’s own trauma resonate so much with it that they get sucked into the loop too? And the signal knowing when it all starts and stops again with the lights and the music is just spine-chilling. 2) That Crystal clocked the energy between Edwin and Charles basically from the jump and very straightforwardly tried to address things to avoid unnecessary bs (“Hey Charles Edwin seems obviously jealous” “Hey Edwin I think you have feelings even you don’t know about”) 3) Esther giving Monty the mission to get close to BOTH Edwin and Charles and him promptly fully ignoring Charles in order to flirt with Edwin. 4) Charles leading with cheeriness and kindness while having a deep well of anger pushed deep within him (as a fun contrast to Crystal who leads with rage while having a fundamental core of kindness) and wanting to help others with their problems all the time while smilingly denying any talk about his own negative feelings. Just good characters all around. 5) Speaking of good characters, I just loved The Notary. That is all. 6) Edwin adoring and bonding with Niko near immediately being both very cute and very funny as a contrast to him butting heads due to being too similar/jealous of Crystal. And there’s probably more but this show is stuck in full brain rotation right now so who knows.

The acting in that last scene -- Malte and Edvin the actors you are. Just amazing. This is the Simon the truth teller episode.

Things I wanted to say: -Charles is peak bisexual sitting on that stepladder at the beginning he’s just like me fr -Monty my beloved he’s been a human for a day and he decides to go be a gay astrology nerd. -I’m really excited to see what you think of the rest of the series!! I think it just keeps getting better with every episode. And yes I did cry many times in disbelief and joy about how queerness is actually *intrinsic* to the story.

One of the things Neil Gaiman said recently (concerning Queer characters in The Sandman). [Heavy paraphrase] There are queer people in my life why would they be missing from my fiction? They don't have to justify their right to exist, they just are. That's now my standard. No more storylines built around the spectacle of queer suffering. No more 'positive representation'. No more 'very special episodes.' No more GBFs. No more 'queer is a problem that straight people have to deal with.' I want to watch shows where Queer people exist on their own terms. I think Edwin as a gay boy magnet before he comes out is hilarious.

Also it is part of the sandman comic (In the show it would be in season 2) There is a comic issue dedicated to them as a consequence of something really big happening. Neil said in the premier panel discussion that he decided to make Charles and Edwin into detectives like the hardy boys when he brought the characters back for the "Children's Crusade" comic and he thought "it was my most commerical idea yet! but no one saw it!" this reminds me SOOOO much of what your talking about at minute 2 here; this is SUCH A RIPE IDEA for a looong series and i hope netflix isnt DUMB ENOUGH not to give us more

Oh yeah, I'm so obsessed with this show at the moment. Watched the first episode with my mom, and then sat down not long after and watched the rest in one sitting. Had my second full watch through today. I'm loving your reactions to this. <3

Now you know Brittany, why I politely asked (begged) you to watch this. I, like you, got to a point in the series where I legitimately could not believe what I was seeing. that the queerness of this show was so blatant yet tastefully done that it didn't feel real at all. Said moment is later in the show however, so I'll let you know when you get to it, but I'm sure you'll figure out which moment it is on your own. This episode was just a rollercoaster for me, resident adopted mother of one Charles Rowland. seeing him in such visceral emotional pain was so hard, and Jayden did such a good job at acting it.

Did you notice how they are seated around 1:14 ? The "desk" is an ironing board and Charles is perched INSIDE a ladder because that boy really needed to recreate something close to their usual position however he could 🤣. I love them. Edwin is like catnip for supernatural queer guys 🥰. Niko is the best. Impossible not to love her. "I could lose... we could lose Charles." 🥺🥺🥺🥺

I returned here to re-listen and re-enjoy. And I just made it to where you say 'I'm invested in them (meaning Lwj and Wwx) a normal amount'. And I was just gonna say, yes, actually. No, seriously. You ARE invested in them a normal amount, except more professionally than most. But in effect, people who know mdzs at all just ARE that invested in them, so that is, in fact, normal. I am used to ships gripping me and spinning me for some time, but they will simmer down eventually. Not this one though, oh no. It took up permanent active residence, so I need to watch The Untamed and listen to this, again and again. I teach German to adult learners and just yesterday, really just yesterday, one of my students noticed untamed as a background on my laptop (just Lwj and wwx holding a bunny, totally sfw!) and told me how much she loves the series. And she also said she tried WoH, but she missed Lwj and wwx all the time. Normal amount.

(a digression, but…) just wanted to give you a warning! i love your readings ❤️❤️ been here since the first book 1 stream!

As a VC reader, this show never stops surpassing my expectations and I'm so in love with it. I must be biased but Armand's my favorite character not only in the books but in general, so I can't praise enough what they're doing with him, both Assad and the direction crew, and I love to see other people's (Daniel included) reactions to him<3 Your reactions were so relatable 😂 I'll be here next episode!

I season one Daniel makes a comment about Louis and Lestate being a couple of old married queens? Something like that. I get a similar energy from him and armand here and I adore it. I love how the show embrasses that while vampires dont physically age they do get older and mature but it doesnt actually give into the ageist stereotypes. Most of the older folks I know I can see a bit of in the vampires and i love that.
